NL premiere Better Lost Than Stupid
Better Lost Than Stupid was spontaneously born during an edition of Electric Zoo in New York. Martin Buttrich, Matthias Tanzmann & Davide Squillace, originally booked as individual DJ’s, quickly saw that the gigs were simply more fun in each other’s company. It wasn’t long before the trio began to see potential for serious artistic collaboration and Better Lost Than Stupid was created. Their first performance in the Netherlands ever will take place on our Mainstage on July 26th. Three times the fun! Come and check it out!more ...

After a day of hard work, Tim Hoeben joined us and rewarded everyone with an inspiring DJ set.more ...

Een Dijk van een Markt
If you visited Welcome to the Future before, you know that the festival premises are surrounded by water, held back by a green, lush embankment. On this dike, we’ve hosted a silent disco, huge chill area’s and other fun stuff in recent years. This year, we’re taking things to a higher level: we’ll be building a whole creative, biological market, right on the embankment. As it’s totally rural and locally sourced, we’ve aptly named it in Dutch: Een Dijk Van Een Markt, which smartly uses a Dutch proverb and translates roughly to: One Hell Of A Market.more ...
Expect fresh, locally grown food, massages, small scale theatre and even a petite stage with bands and singer-songwriters! And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Come and check it out, right at the edge of Welcome to the Future.
Free Water for everyone!
We believe that water belongs to everyone and therefore should be available for free at any festival.
Welcome to the Future and PWN are working together to make clean, clear drinking water available for all visitors and the entire crew.
This is why we'll be serving chilled water straight from the tap at our 4 water bars, which you'll find scattered around the festival terrain.
You'll also be able to purchase re-usable and super handy water bags at these bars.

A Greener Festival Award
Did you know that almost all of our food comes from organic source, that we use recycled materials to build our stages and that our generators partly run on waste vegetable oil? Or that we hand out free tapwater in reusable bottles?
This is why we have been awarded the 'Greener Festival Award of Excellence' in 2013, which makes us one of the 10 greenest festivals on the globe!
All of this wouln't have been possible without the amazing dedication of our visitors. Thanks to their support we planted a Welcome to the Future forest during our volunteering days, built a music school in Nairobi by collecting guest-donations and recycled thousands of plastic cups during the last events.
And, to top it all off, more than half of our visitors come to Welcome to the Future 100% emission-free: by bike.
This year, we'll again work on upgrading and optimizing our green activites and measures, in order to keep our inspiring role within the international festival landscape.
