Volunteering day 2014
Welcome to the Future is a proud partner of the 10.000 HOURS project, which aims to contribute to the local sourrounding of our beautiful festival location. During this special day a group of dedicated volunteers will be combining their powers to plant trees, help animals and renovate children's facilities.
Would you like to join us this year? We'll keep you posted about the registration process and deadlines!
A Greener Festival Award
Did you know that almost all of our food comes from organic source, that we use recycled materials to build our stages and that our generators partly run on waste vegetable oil? Or that we hand out free tapwater in reusable bottles?
This is why we have been awarded the 'Greener Festival Award of Excellence' in 2013, which makes us one of the 10 greenest festivals on the globe!
All of this wouln't have been possible without the amazing dedication of our visitors. Thanks to their support we planted a Welcome to the Future forest during our volunteering days, built a music school in Nairobi by collecting guest-donations and recycled thousands of plastic cups during the last events.
And, to top it all off, more than half of our visitors come to Welcome to the Future 100% emission-free: by bike.
This year, we'll again work on upgrading and optimizing our green activites and measures, in order to keep our inspiring role within the international festival landscape.
Free Water for everyone!
We believe that water belongs to everyone and therefore should be available for free at any festival.
Welcome to the Future, PWN and Livebuild are working together to make clean, clear drinking water available for to all visitors and the entire crew.
This is why we'll be serving chilled water straight from the tap at our 4 water bars which you'll find scatter around the festival terrain.
You'll also be able to purchase re-usable and super handy water bags at these bars.
